SPRING events kicking off this week, brought to you by Dirtopia:

>Staalwater MTB Challenge, 8 September Caledon

Route update:

2 changes to the 60km route for 2012. The start is slightly different to bypass a soaked wheat field and due to roadworks/blasting on Shaw's Pass we have to cross the mountain on a farm track that is sure to be a highlight of this year's route and is sure to be a permanent addition. The climb is around 250m in 3km so it will make the original pass look like a hill and put the Staal in Staalwater! Once over the top we are adding singletrack created by the local Rockhoppers MTB club, creating a nice diverse route for 2012. New profile on the website.

Choose from a 15km, 30km & 60km option. The local Round Table charity will be managing the refreshment stations on all routes for fund raising.

Late entries will be accepted for all distances at registration

    Friday at Dirtopia Trail Centre from 08h00 to 14h00 � all late entries receive something extra at Delvera registration

    Friday at Caledon Hotel from 18h30-20h30

    Saturday from 07h00 until 30minutes before your start:

    60km 09h00.

    30km 09h15

    15km 09h30

Venue at Caledon Casino, Hotel & Spa. All finishers receive a R50 double-up voucher for the Casino and a new event medal as well!

Entrants will receive a 50% discount at the Mineral Baths again PLUS a free entry to Caledon Country Fair &. With kids entertainment, make sure you stay for the prizegiving / lucky draw where you could win a Mountain Bike, Hotel vouchers, Spa vouchers and Dinner vouchers and lots more!

Prizemoney for the first overall male & female in the 60km.

A social ride on Voorhoede farm on Sunday, 9 Sept from 09h00 � two options for beginners and intermediate riders. Permit fee of R20.

Don�t miss the stunning Spring riding in the Overberg this weekend!

>SPUR Lourensford MTB Classic Sunday, 30 September

A ride for all abilities and ages: 57km & 38km; 27km & 15km and kids (10 & under) events of 500m, 1.5km & 3km.

Pre-entries close before the long weekend on Friday, 21 September and they will qualify for discounts, goodybag & seeding.

This year there will be medals to all finishers! Look out for the R2100 accommodation voucher to be won at lucky draw from Easy Five hotel and of course the Giant mountain bike...

Erinvale Spa will give free massages at the finish, while Spur Steak Ranches will provide the kids entertainment and food.

The 9 Sept clinic is fully booked, so book now for the other dates as they are popular! Sara take you on the singletrack and the course gives real value including the goodybag, permit etc.
