CALLING ALL GIRLS & LADY SURFERS….from NORTH to SOUTH COASTS
Heather and Annie | It is National Women’s Day soon and to celebrate Surfing South Africa in association with KZN Surfing Association are putting on a very special Women’s Day Surfing Event which will be taking place in three venues around South Africa on Sat 8 and Sun 9 August 2010.
In Durban the event will take place at Bay Beach on Durban’s Golden Mile and will have various divisions including a rookie division for beginners, and u16, u20 and an open women’s division. These four divisions will each have prizes to the value of R2500. National Lottery, Saltwater Girl, and G Force are the top sponsors for the event. There will also be a special division for the ‘Mom’ surfers!
At each event funds will be raised and donated to CANSA to assist with research for breast cancer, and entrants will be included in a lucky draw. There will also be fun and games for the whole family.
Anne Wright – Chairlady of KZN Surfing said “This is a unique contest only for girls and women, and it is a first for Durban and for South Africa. We are thrilled that Surfing South Africa have come up with this initiative as it will really help grow our girls surfing”
