This event offers a great opportunity for athletes to try their hand at their first stage race but it is also a challenge for the racing snakes.
Over the two days these trails will take you from the river into the inner ripples of the Vredefort Dome which is situated on the Game Farm, Kommando Nek, with some of the most unique species of game roaming the area. There are fascinating remains of mysterious old Kraals built by the local tribesman from way back when which are on the actual trails. Also on the route is an old rehabilitated quarry that runners will climb up to for spectacular views over the surrounding valleys and the river. The trail will them take runners through an area which was an old Boer War camp for the English which can hardly be seen but is there with an amazing story. Finally the trail will wind down to the banks of the Vaal River for a generous stretch on some super forested single track to the finish.
